What’s the buzz on Functional Training?
Functional training is at the core of everything we do, at our outdoor Urban Warrior Camps and exclusive Personal Training sessions. It is a no-nonsense and well developed training method based on direct exercises which allow you to perform activities of daily life more easily and without injuries.
Whether you are a tri-athlete, if you like burning up the dance floor on your weekends, or are a new parent who wants to carry your children without injury, our Health Motivated Functional Training program will produce an effective workout for you.

With origins in rehabilitation and extensively used and developed in training plans for the army and other highly physical occupations, Functional Training is based on the principal that using full range of movement exercises- that emphasis the body's natural ability to move in three anatomical planes of motion- will result in a more effective workout that translates into everyday life activities and will have a greater effective outcome on rehabilitation, elite performance training and weight-loss goals.
Put simply, it is the training of strength through movement rather than training specific muscles independently.
For example if you’re falling or suddenly caught off guard, your body is trained to react quickly, meaning you are less prone to injury. These types of exercises promote core strength and stability, improve or maintain posture and alignment, as well as challenging balance and equilibrium. Because there are multiple muscle groups being used the whole time it’s a great formula for losing weight.
